My relationship with myself is a growing priority for me. I’d like it to be my number one priority, but that seems to be easier said than done. There are so many layers to building my relationship with myself which I’m just getting started with, but so far a big part of it has beenContinueContinue reading “Time for Yourself”

I’ll have the porridge with a topping of gratitude
How often do you stop and think about what you’re eating? And I don’t mean whether its good or bad for you. I mean actually thinking about what it is. How often do you eat and just focus on eating? Without looking at your phone or listening to a podcast or reading something. Focusing yourContinueContinue reading “I’ll have the porridge with a topping of gratitude”
Training Schedule Pt. 2
Some of you may remember me pondering the pros and cons of a training schedule a little while ago (hop back to it here). At that point in time I wasn’t following a training schedule at all. I needed to calm the hell down from a lifetime of continually expecting too much from myself. AContinueContinue reading “Training Schedule Pt. 2”
It’s Earth Day – but when will Earth Overshoot Day be?
Its Earth Day today, so I wanted to share a piece I wrote around Earth Overshoot Day last year. If you’ve never heard of either, consider Earth Day as a day to celebrate the Earth (a bit like mother’s day, we should appreciate her every day but we need a specific day to remind us),ContinueContinue reading “It’s Earth Day – but when will Earth Overshoot Day be?”
Apparently I’m not special
You are not special. That’s the sentence that stared me in the face part way through my latest lockdown read. A bit harsh. Isn’t it? Yet as I read the chapter I realised it nicely pulled together some of my recent thoughts. And in fact I agreed with the author. It was like he hadContinueContinue reading “Apparently I’m not special”
India thoughts
I collected together my thoughts, observations and comparisons to life in the UK during three weeks in India. A little insight into my brain. Already I think differently to what I thought when I wrote each section, so I’m very aware these are not well rounded or particularly knowledgeable points..just what I thought at theContinueContinue reading “India thoughts”
On deleting Instagram for two months
I was surprised at how much I noticed it was gone and how much it affected life outside the squares. I wouldn’t say I was addicted to Instagram, but with my phone’s screen time monitor showing me I consistently spend over 40 minutes a day Instagramming, I’d say I spent too much time on it.ContinueContinue reading “On deleting Instagram for two months”
A head or a heart decision?
The leaves haven’t turned yet, but it feels like we’ve skipped autumn and winter is here. The lighting of our wood-burner reminding me of cosy Christmas holiday days. The need to wrap up warm and cosy up indoors calling me more strongly than the windy and wet outdoors. If you like winter this probably soundsContinueContinue reading “A head or a heart decision?”
Is a Training Schedule Always a Good Thing?
Exercise has always been a central pillar in my life but in recent years it has decreased dramatically in intensity and frequency. Currently my exercise is sporadic and varied. I have no exercise regime and can’t help but feel that I’m being lazy. I often feel like I should commit to a training schedule andContinueContinue reading “Is a Training Schedule Always a Good Thing?”
Gratitude
I thought I was quite a grateful person. When I got the perfect job, the dream holiday, a new phone or had a great time with friends I’d feel grateful. But what happened after that?
