This week has shown me the difference a few days can make. Weather-wise and metaphorically too. The bright blues and greens of english summertime were replaced by greys and murky greens for a few days. Sure I’d prefer a sunny day over a cloudy one. But I kinda enjoyed the cooler weather for running, the excuse to cosy up indoors, and knowing the plants were getting some much needed water. It made me appreciate the warm sunlight even more when it did return too.
The sunny days wouldn’t be sunny days if it wasn’t for the cloudy ones in between.
Also featuring this week: coffee in bed and take out coffee. A takeout coffee would have been something to squeeze in among many other things before. Now there’s less to do it has become a real treat. Coffee in bed is always a treat.
This period of time really has brought back the joy in the little moments for me. With people starting to return to work and more and more businesses being allowed to open it seems like life is starting to return to normal. I wonder whether I will remember to feel joy and gratitude for the little moments when my days are full of big moments too. I hope so.
